Tv Shows

I have been watching TV shows online, and I watch men and trees, october road, eli stone, and many more. Most of these movies have a romantic story in them, and they are said and tug at your heart. I have never been so stressed and emotionally torn by a show until I was recommended to watch nip/tuck. I honestly couldn't watch the whole show. Each character is self-centered and stressed and depressed and regards others feelings. Whether it's seeing a mom take her anger out on a gerbil, or the best friend hitting on his friend's wife. OMG, I don't know how people can honestly watch that and not have it effect them. I strongly urge you, if you are a sensative person to not watch this show. I honestly became completely depressed from it :( It was so ahh horrible. I know it's a great show, but I couldnt go through with it.

TV and Movies!

I grew up watching a lot and i mean A LOT of TV and not only that, but I also watched a Ton of movies. I wouldn't regret it, because after all, it really is one aspect of connecting with someone. For example, "Hey, I used to watch that show too! Killer tofu!" Now for those of you that are completely lost by that, it's referring to the Nickelodeon show, Doug. Anyways, I also ponder about how much TV we watch everyday and how it conciously or unconsciously shaped our lives. Many, may think that's not possible because they have a very realistic outlook on life, but me, I have this view of the world around me as if it could be a movie or TV show. I know that no one is perfect and that guys are not as sappy or think as much into things as the men on shows, let alone are aware of everything women are thinking. I'm not putting them down at all, it's just so interesting to me that men and women can connect but at the same time find it difficult to understand each other. Look at it this way, some men may be watching shows on the discovery channel about how things are made, or Myth Busters, and or you have have other men that watch sports with statistics and constant memorizing of different plays and stats. Then there is the women's world. Most women I would say, or the category that I fall under would be that I like watching sit-coms, but then when there are no more epispodes left to watch online, then I turn to the shows that I wouldn't be as likely to watch, as I would call them, melo-dramas, which I honestly think is harmonious with soap operas. Now, I refuse to get into a soap, but I remember not too long ago watching Grey's Anatomy religiously and after a few years I grew to loathe that show. So dramatic, after awhile I didn't even understand how the show continues to air because, I would feel so effected by the show, that I would be sad by it, and if wasn't even real! I stopped watching it, because thanks to being in college I have my own drama I have to deal with and just like the Screwball comedies or the 1930s, I want to watch something that lets me escape all of that and create a fantasy world. I think if there were more comedies and less drama in life everyone would be so much happier and God forbid, laugh more, without feeling silly or restricted to playing it cool. I think that with more comedy in our lives we would be less likely to snap at someone, but rather instead to look at life like it was a sit-com. Make fun of yourself to ease the embarassment. We complain about our teachers being so annoying or so boring, but how about the fact that it's not easy to entertain a college student. If, I was to view my opinion of my teacher as if I was on a sit-com I might joke about me being in class zoning out and not listening to him but trying to understand if the teacher reaizes that the first two rows were asleep as soon as he said hello class, in a completely mono tone voice. hahaha! Another refreshing concept is stand-up, or just jokes in general. I LOVE Dane Cook jokes! Mostly because they are so true! Whenever I hear a car alarm I think beeeep beeeeep I am a car I run on gas beeeeeep beeeeep :P You might have to search for this on YouTube to get a better understanding. But yea, I have class now, and I realize that I just went on a tangent and totally forgot my main point, but I'll fix it later. It's nice having a blog to let it all out though :)

The Internet

I love the internet. Is there anything that you can't do on the internet!? I watch TV shows online, I can view old movies, listen to music, pay my bills, become better friends with someone on facebook, and get directions to anywhere on mapquest.com. I have also fairly recently become enfactuated with the how to videos on YouTube! I can learn how to resew on a button. My sister got me into knitting. Now, to be honest at first i was taken aback. You want to do what?! Lol. It was honestly so fun and now I knit when I can. The nice thing though, is if I haven't knit in a while and I just need a refresher on knitting, I can just go to YouTube and watch a video on knitting! :)

To Infinity and Beyond...

Due to late night classes and writing papers I found ABC.com had all of their shows online to view the next day at anytime. It's so convenient, but at the same time maybe I'm missing out. I might miss the new commercial ads or any major news stories. What I'm getting at, is if this is in some way the new wave, is the TV the next thing to be outdated. Are we going to be attached to the Computer Screen with pop-ups of headline news that we can't avoid? And then by that time will we download shows onto our ipods and then in a few years have an ipod sized gadget, like a smaller laptop that conveniently fits in a bag that "Everyone" wears and has a wireless satelite type thing so that we can be on the internet at all times of the day no matter where we go? Now, don't get me wrong, I am aware that these things already exist, but how soon will it become the ultimate craze, that everyone will own and we will walk around unattached from others, unless we met them online? I'm not against advances in technology, but I guess I'm getting to the point in my life where I thought the way things were, were also nice. There are many positive aspects to the future and negative ones. Ones, where we were all very social and friendly rather than keeping to ourselves. This is just a rough draft of my thoughts of today :)
